    Connecticut pinners

    how many guys are from CT, and fish their pin in local rivers?
    i originally bought mine for steelhead and now i fish down here alot with it and has changed by winter trout fishing by leaps and bounds

    I am not far from you , I am in naugatuck ct. I primarily pin for trout.

    what you guys have for set ups?
    i have 3 right now
    11'6" raven im6 with raven matrix w/ 8# ande green
    13' shimano clarus with raven limited edition fully ported w/ 8# ande pink
    15' st croix avid with raven limited edition XL w/ 10# ande pink
    i use mainly the 13' in ct, haven't fished my 11'6 here yet but its a little stout for the lighter leaders i use here

    I use a 11-6. 3-6lb.test cts affinity & custom john milner kingfisher . the set up was built for me very light .20171125_083051.jpg

    I have an 11’ 2-4 CTS with a custom 4” kingfisher I use. I also use a travel 8.5’ 5 piece 5wt custom pin conversion with an even more custom 4” milner manx. No need for the 13s or 15s ever in my opinion if you steelhead fish the Great Lakes tribs with the exception of the Niagara. I do all my steelheading with an 11’6” 4-8 CTS and 4.5” Demarco.

    i seem to fish the bigger water on the farmington (below collinsville) and i definately enjoyed the longer rods fishing the housy this past weekend, both the 13 and 15 allowed me to reach the farther seam and hold the line off compared to a shorter rod, i will definately say for most of the rivers in ct the short rods are more than enough

    ct here as well, south windham. fish local streams and the farmy. Kingpin R2 and a soon to be new custom rod from weekend angler
